Air operated double diaphragm pump is a PD Pump that consists of two pumping chambers that are alternately filled and released by the movement of flexible diaphragms. Compacted air is taken care of and vented from the air chambers on the diaphragms' contrary sides.
These pumps are usually used to transfer applications, including slurries, abrasive fluids, etc. Though it is reliable and robust, it is used to maintain sensitive fluids, be noisy sometimes, prone to icing, and are limited to low pressure.

How does an air-operated double diaphragm pump work?
• This pump moves fluid by the alternative, and with the two flexible membranes on a standard shaft, it moves back and forth. Although these pumps can be driven directly, the shaft connected to the motor, AODD pump still uses the compressed air to distribute equally to the air chambers.
• There are two chambers, and the compressed air directs sir control system into chamber A.
• The shaft moves to the left, and the movement increases the pumping volume of the other chamber and reduces the volume in chamber A. The fluid flows through the pump and ensures to flow in one direction from the inlet to discharge. This effect is to draw fluid from the other chamber and discharge it to chamber A.
• As the shaft completes one stroke of air distribution, it directs the other chamber's compressed air.
• This shifting expands the volume of pumping in chamber A, and once it completes the stroke, the distribution system vents air, and the cycle repeats.

Applications of AODD Pumps
Motor-driven pump often uses a meter or dispensing applications, but air-operated double diaphragm pumps is a workhorse device used to transfer applications. With low cost and reliable and can pump contaminated liquids.
The following are the applications of AODD pumps:
• Mining industry: Can operate in hazardous situations
• Coatings: Can pump low and capable of low shear fluid transfer
• Ceramics: Can pump in highly abrasive slurries and sludge
• Chemical: Anti-corrosive and chemical resistance
• Oil and Gas: Allows bulk transfer, filter press
AODD pumps are robust and reliable. Generally, a workhorse device typically designed to transfer applications in various industries.
